Las viviendas de agua. Water dwellings. Gehäuse Wasser.

Las viviendas de agua.  Water dwellings.

Water dwellings

This is a concept that I have devised, subject to development since it implies designs of devices hitherto unknown, but totally possible to be manufactured. Serve this article as a reference or mention of the design of which I am the author.
Thermal insulation is used to reduce the solar charge on conditioning systems. Because they are expensive it is normal to use them only at certain points.
A wall separated by another one with air (insulating wall) possesses a container of liquid that acts like receiver of calories avoiding that they are transferred to the interior of the house. The liquid itself (water) has a fairly high heating time depending on the thickness of the water layer. However, once the heating time has elapsed, the liquid equals the outside temperature. In principle it delays the transmission of heat while it is heating.
The innovation consists in communicating this container of water with another one buried in this way happens a transmission of energy generating a more direct way towards the earth than towards the interior of the house. On the other hand the wall is separated with air from the wall that actually generates the environment to protect by which we find a system that has great thermal resistance towards the house and little resistance to the terrain.
The system being passive does not consume energy and only has installation cost that is useful for the entire life of the home. Another aspect is the recirculation of water in a periodic manner which involves capturing from the lower tank and sending to the top of the container next to the wall. This enables faster transmission of energy even if some energy is used in the process. The thermal gain in relation to the energy used in recirculation continues to be very favorable to the system in terms of energy savings.
A device that acts by measuring temperature of the liquid is responsible for activating a pump that recirculates the water for a certain period.
In the ceiling a layer of water can be applied in a flat container that can also be recirculated or connected to the walls fulfilling the same function.

Because the incidence of cooling energy from heat losses is the most important, its elimination contributes to keeping the environment in normal conditions without using more energy than water recirculation. A source of heat will be people in the environment and devices that emit heat. In any case a conditioning system would consume minimal energy in eliminating this heat.
The water has a great heat capacity (1000 kcal / m3 ºC), so it draws much energy to raise its temperature in a single degree, compared to other materials.
A thickness of 20 cm of water per m2 can capture 3000 kcal to go from 25 º to 40 º. The time of that lift depends on the speed at which it is heated. Estimating 900 W / m2 the source of incidence, the time is almost 4 hours. At that time the transmission of energy is delayed to the housing system which in turn has an intermediate air layer which ensures a more effective thermal resistance.
At the same time, if the liquid communicates with another tank buried at about 15 to 18 ° C, the energy transfer is permanent. Will the wall heat up to transmit energy? With a minimal recirculation system, we accelerate the transfer process, which achieves total insulation with almost no energy applied.
